Launched in 1955, the GMT-Master saw the rapid development of intercontinental travel in the second half of the 20th century. It has a unique blue Parachrom hairspring and features the patented Chronergy escapement. The movement’s power reserve is extended to approximately 70 hours.
Rolex broke new ground in 2013 with the debut of a two-tone monobloc ceramic bezel insert – one half in blue and the other in black. A year later, the brand released the two-tone Cerachrom insert in red and blue – the original colors of the GMT-Master. It undertook pioneering research to develop a red ceramic that met its aesthetic and quality standards.
